ABOUT EXPEDITION…

          Expedition will begin in a half of August 2008 in Isortoq, situated in East shore of Greenland. Firstly we will follow north and during the week we want reach the bottom of mount Forel. On the altitude of 2200meters n.p.m. we will settle the base camp, and than will make one day attack on the summit. In next step of the expedition we will change direction to west. From this time, our way will follow along latitude 67°N – until exit from the glacier through „Point 660” – 40km distance from Kangerlussuaq (situated deep in Søndre Strømfjord).

          Expedition has an aim to mark new traverse route on the Greenland through second highest peak of island. The route will pass from east to west – from more steep side of glacier. Chosen period of year is also controversial: summer time – rainy/snowy period… we need respect with problems with going out from the glacier near the Kangerlussuaq, where ice sheet could be melting. Kites are taken in case of some unplanned delays during the expeditions. The general assumption is that we will cross the glacier with only skis using mussels of our bodies. Time of stay in Greenland is only about 35 days, thus through the 30 days we must wander over 700 kilometers and climb the highest mountain on south – east region of island.

Expedition will start on the half of August, probably in a period 10.08.2008 – 10.09.2008.
